Softening Around the Edges…
What if we soften around the edges? What if everything didn’t have to be so tight, rigid, structured, strict, firm, inflexible, precise...? What if we allow ourselves to be more fluid, more flexible, and open? I’m asking for a friend 😉.
If you're like me, you might find that the strength of your muscles—both physical and emotional—lies in holding onto a certain level of rigidity. That same rigidity has served me (us) in so many ways: structure, control, and a sense of safety. Here’s the thing: I’m learning to lean into softening. Embracing something more gentle and kind. And, it takes those around me to remind me about the beauty of developing self-compassion for how I (we) show up in the world.
I am grateful for the spaces and opportunities to continue learning and growing. Growth doesn't always feel comfortable. It often feels like being stretched in new ways, and it’s where the magic happens.
In our current Circle offerings, we’re touching on expansive topics and transformative spaces. We’re stepping into ourselves—looking inward and gaining self-awareness. Things can feel messy, uncomfortable, and filled with uncertainty. And we’re honoring that discomfort—the itchiness of stepping into the unknown. And that’s brave work indeed.
As we journey together, let's remember that it's okay to be a work in progress. Softening doesn't mean losing strength; it means finding flexibility, resilience, and a deeper understanding of ourselves.
I invite you, too, to consider softening around harder edges that may show up in your life. Holding space for ourselves and each other as we walk inside our stories, owning every beautiful, messy, and complex part of them.
After several requests, we are offering a second Embrace & Empower: Learn To Love Who You Are Circle, beginning October 17, 6 – 7:30pm CT.
